Manchester United's Noussair Mazraoui and Victor Lindelof were unable to come on against Lyon as they left Old Trafford due to 'personal problems'.

Lindelof was named on the bench, and was seen warming up on the pitch at half-time before he had to leave Old Trafford. Mazraoui also left the ground at half time to tend to an unrelated personal issue, meaning Luke Shaw had to come on in his stead.

A source close to the club told the that Lindelof would have replaced his fellow defender if he'd been available, as the Portuguese had hoped to limit Shaw to 30 minutes of action in his return from another injury. Despite the chaos, Amorim was able to pull the strings and engineer a famous 5-4 comeback win for his United team.

Speaking after the game, Amorim said: "We had a problem with Nouss at half-time and Vic had a personal problem and he had to leave, so all this stuff happened during this game, but in the end it was a good game."

Amorim will hope Lindelof and Mazraoui will be back soon as he'll need all the help he can get at the back. United are without Matthijs de Ligt, Lisandro Martinez, Ayden Heaven and Jonny Evans in defence.
