Neymar, who moved to Al-Hilal in 2023 for €90 million (£77.2m/$98.3m), reportedly already has an agreement in place with the club that gave him his professional debut. The Brazilian national team's record goal scorer has only managed seven games in all competitions for Al-Hilal since signing as a result of various injuries, and seems to have become disillusioned with the project he signed up for.

When he left Santos in 2013, Neymar had already cemented himself there as a club legend. After a season and a half of remarkable form, which produced 55 goals and 18 assists in 70 games, Neymar was awarded fifth place at that year's Ballon d'Or ceremony, an outrageous achievement for one playing in a league with such low stature.
Leaving Santos to join Barcelona for a club record fee, Neymar has always held a special place in the hearts of Santos fans, who would have imagined at the time they would never see him in their colours again. However, a recent update on X by transfer market journalist Cesar Luis Merlo has indicated that Neymar could make a hero's return to the club that gave him his opportunity.
WHAT HAS BEEN SAID
In his Twitter post, Merlo stated: "Neymar ready to return to Santos. The club where he made his debut already has an agreement with the 32-year-old footballer. The termination of Al-Hilal is being worked on and the idea is to announce it once the tournament that marked Peixe's return to the top flight is over."

While Neymar may be preparing for a premature departure from the Saudi club, he still must be present for their upcoming games until the deal with Santos is officially announced. Still ruled out through injury, he will need to watch on from the sidelines as Al-Hilal travel to Al-Khaleej on Saturday 23rd November.
