Luka Modric is said to be ready to pull the plug on a potential deal to Real Madrid after becoming frustrated at the Spanish side’s lack of action this summer, The Sun report.
The diminutive Croatian playmaker is believed to be eager to find a new club after Tottenham failed to qualify for the Champions League for the second year in a row.
Jose Mourinho’s men are believed to be the frontrunners to sign the attacking midfielder, with Spurs likely to request around £35 million for their star man.
However, with Andre Villas-Boas installed as the side’s new manager and the club eager to keep Modric, a lack of action by the Spanish champions is said to have frustrated the eastern European player, who knows any such move could be protracted due to Spurs’ unwillingness to sell.
Modric is said to have given Madrid a deadline of July 17 to have made their interest in him solid, or will turn his back on a potential move to the Santiago Bernabeu.
