It is not just the senior Liverpool team that is in action today: the club’s U19 side have also been playing, and against RB Salzburg as well.
It was a rather incredible game in Austria, too. The Reds were 2-0 down at half-time, but three second-half goals from Harvey Elliott, Thomas Hill and Jack Bearne turned it around, meaning that the young guns have now qualified for the next round of the competition.
Their comeback impressed the club’s supporters, and they took to Twitter to share their thoughts.
It was a rather stunning turnaround from the youngsters, and it is something we have seen the first team do in the last few months, as well, such as the comeback against Barcelona at Anfield and the recent victory against Aston Villa.
Some supporters are hoping that the first team can take inspiration from the U19s, as they play Salzburg in the Champions League later on.
Whilst Jurgen Klopp’s do not need to win – a draw will suffice – they will still need a good performance against a side that already has 16 goals in this year’s group stage.

Of course, several of these players could feature against the Villans in the League Cup quarter-finals, with the whole senior squad making the trip to Qatar for the Club World Cup. And several supporters are now confident they can do the job at Villa Park.
It would be some story if they could get a result against Dean Smith’s team next week!!
