Everton are supposedly in the market for a new forward in January with River Plates’ Rafael Santos Borre being lined up by the club.
According to Argentine source Publimento, via FOX Sport, the Toffees are in the race to sign the 24-year-old who could leave the club after scoring in the Copa Libertadores final last weekend.
Since then, journalist Carlos Antonio Velez has confirmed (via Sport Witness) that there’s been a bid for the striker in the region of around €15m (£12.7m).

Supporters of Everton have since taken to Twitter to discuss the links and they didn’t seem overly enamoured or excited about a potential deal.
One made reference to work permit issues that could occur while another joked he’d arrive and play out of position at right-back.
Another fan failed to see the point of signing another striker when they already have so many at their disposal.
The tweeter has a point too. After all, Richarlison has played upfront while they also have Cenk Tosun, Moise Kean and Dominic Calvert-Lewin among their ranks.
Borre has scored seven times this term in 11 games which puts him ahead of anyone already at Everton.
Here’s some of the reaction.
Meanwhile, here is what Everton fans have been saying about someone who could replace Marco Silva…
