Some Everton fans have been left lauding a transfer update involving Aurelio Buta.
As per A Bola, the Goodison Park faithful have joined the race to sign the Royal Antwerp right-back, as Rafa Benitez is desperate to sign one before the 2021/22 Premier League season begins.
He would cost in the region of around €3.2m (£2.3m), and would provide some decent competition for Seamus Coleman.
Buta actually averaged more interceptions and crosses than Coleman in their respective domestic leagues last term, and also made more assists (Whoscored).
At just 24 years of age, he is also a lot younger than the Republic of Ireland international, and so £2.3m could really turn out to be a bargain for the Merseyside club in the long-term, even if they simply get a few good years out of him and sell on for profit.
However, given that Benitez wants to bring a right-back in before the new campaign starts, they may struggle to get this deal done that quickly.
